What’s in a Kiss?

My friend Magalay is a more serious blogger than I am. She has a Wednesday challenge calledDoing It Alone Is Quite Yummy, But…

I am doing what I can to be creative enough to hang in there with her. This is episode two.

What’s in a Kiss?

So full disclosure, I can’t remember the last time I had a real kiss. It sucks to “say it out loud”, but it is what it is. I remember the kisses, just not the last really deep passionate – don’t leave ‘cause I want you forever kiss. And I can say I truly miss that aspect of a relationship.

There are so many ways we get kisses in our life. I honest to God don’t believe I can think of them all and write something about them. A lot are so similar they get lumped together in my brain.

My coworkers grace me with air kisses to cheeks when I have the opportunity to actually be in their physical presence (so goes the life on the road). They’re Informal yet friendly and normally given with warmth galore.

Friends likewise greet with lips or cheek. This greeting can be a wonderful reminder you’re in their life.

My mom kisses with love. Her kisses fill my heart with joy and I cherish each. One day I know, they will be no more.

We get kisses from kids and old people, but there’s only one kind of kiss that opens the door.

Oh to kiss that one special love.

A Kiss

Your kiss
Those lips
Addiction intense
First one
Sweet honey
Longing for more
Can’t break away
Your lips must stay
Starving
Devouring
Tasting insane
Never two lips
My heart contain
Until yours lustfully
Whispered my name
——————————–

Feel familiar? That’s the kind of kiss I like. We kiss hello and goodbye all the time with this person, and it’s nice. It shows our love and gratitude for each other.

But those times . . . when it’s just you two. A soft kiss, lingering to say “Hey. I desire you.”

Then another kiss – forgetting to part. Stoking those embers to life inside. Saying you are mine.

Those are the kisses I want to understand.

What’s in that kiss? What is it when those lips touch yours? There is magic in that kiss.

Do you remember your first real kiss? Do you remember the first kiss with your love? I remember many kisses. I distinctly remember some specific kisses, but we will leave it at that.

All I know is that I love the intimacy of a kiss. The opening up of our souls to the other. A kiss removes boundaries and walls. A kiss burns away inhibition.

Honey

Like honey on my lips
Your kisses are sweet
You caress me with fingers
Soft as the silken sheets
Like the warm desert winds
Your breath tickles my ear
Whisper your love
Free like the mountain sheep
Climbing new heights
With no fear of falling
Come to my bed
My mistress of desire
Uncloak your passion
Give in to your need
For you are more beautiful
Than any other

Wake

As my lips
Your body wake
I see the quivers
Feel you quake
Your eyes stay closed
In dreamlike bliss
As my mouth
Your parts doth kiss
Your flesh my feast
I devour it slow
No spot forbidden
As on I go
Stay with me
As we welcome the sun
Daylight beckons
Pleasure filled fun

  1. My first real kiss was, funnily enough, on Halloween night, when I was 15. I knew was onto something good when a boyfriend (now my husband) wanted to watch Army of Darkness on our first Valentine’s Day together. And yes, I still remember those first (thousand) kisses between us in college, when we had what seemed like all the time in the world. LOL, sometimes kisses have to be hurried along these days, what with work, kids, and all. But we still make sure to leave time for those college dorm kisses when we can. 🙂

  2. You were right, I shall reread it with my Piano Man. I know we’ll grin at each other a lot, while your words dance into sound. Recalling a particular kiss, plotting for the next, getting one out of the way just because… remember every time, he or I say, “Just another kiss,” while standing at the door. And I tell him, “Well, you have to come inside. I have no pants. Don’t want to continue traumatizing the neighbors.”

Kisses are wonderful gifts. My first one was a theft–I punched the guy in the mouth so hard that he hit his face on the side of doorframe. I was very young. Had I been younger, I would’ve probably kicked him too. My first real kiss was with a friend–we were practicing, lol, and considered the whole thing completely disgusting. 😀 Ah, but then came love, and it was glorious.

Today, I love all my Piano Man kisses–by the door, when he gets home and I’m in the shower (vise versa), when one of us is washing dishes, saying goodbye on the phone (love those!), emojis, the ones that include tickles because someone is not really ready to get up, all our kisses… the stories they hold. A kiss is honey that wakens hearts… with Power.

This was wonderful, my friend. I so hope your find your one, the one who has been holding all your real kisses, keeping them safe… just for you.
