Travel Tidbits (2)

Ok, I really hate to fly, but it’s necessary if I want to do and keep my job.

With that in mind, I flew the first year of this job without an Admiral’s Lounge pass. I still arrived early and paid too much money for food and drink when I needed to grab a bite. About halfway into year two of flying, I looked into the club pass.

At $500 a year it seems crazy expensive, but when you are flying 2-3 times a week, it quickly pays for itself.

There are not full blown meals in the lounge, but there is plenty of food to satisfy even the picky. This alone can pay for the membership quickly, but the free booze is where you start saving big money.

And, the restrooms are much cleaner and less crowded. Lol.

Ok. Let me just list the pros as I see them. For my work, I get a per diem for meals, and two meals In the lounge pays the monthly costs. So when I say free, yes it’s free.

1. Free Food

2. Free Booze

3. Clean restrooms

4. Comfy chairs

5. Quiet areas

6. Free newspapers

Now understand, there are not lounges in every airport, but if you fly the big hubs a lot, I’d recommend looking into a lounge pass.

Safe travels and have a great day.
