Moon of white
A shadow bite
Covers you in red
Don’t despair
Time is fair
Shadows have now fled
Back to white
Pretty and bright
Moonbeams for my bed
This evening the sun set and the moon rose. Then the earth decided to cast a big ole shadow on the moon turning it a crazy neat red hue.
I’ve always wanted a telescope, but have never justified owning one. However, as a photographer, you can justify anything photographic if you think hard enough.
Last Autumn I decided to upgrade my camera to a bridge camera with an awesome zoom. I have not been disappointed.
But back to my sun and moon tonight. I went to a local park/lake this evening to unwind and watch the sun drop over the horizon. I took only my phone with me as I wasn’t intending to do any sunset photos, but the calm, colors and ducks made me break out the phone. As the sun finally dropped away, I stood up and turned around and saw the prettiest moon rise hot on the sun’s setting trail.
Then I realized it was the evening of a lunar eclipse and blood moon. So yes, I broke out the tripod and camera. I took some time lapse and still photos at a few different stages. I didn’t stay out for the darkest red moment, but think I captured enough to make me happy. That is why I shoot.
I always want to shoot, but find myself being lazy. I’m going to try and focus some this year on finding and capturing some new images to hang in my house. The current pics are beautiful, but old to me.
To all of you that love the moon and it’s cycles, I hope you got to see it tonight. If the weather was bad in your area, here are a couple of pics to show.
Take care and happy moon beams to you.

I am sooo jealous of your camera that I can barely contain the green. What delightful images you’ve captured. I was very lucky to be able to follow the eclipse (through my window, it was too cold for my lungs to venture outside).

It really is a great camera. Thankfully in Texas it was only a little bit chilly. I’m glad you could see the moon.

What beautiful, beautiful photos! I especially love the first one of the red, red moon. And – ah, it is nice to think of moonbeams for one’s bed as well! Nice way to fall asleep.
